Day 8 Rothenburg to Weissenburg 58 miles

Connie gives the briefing, "First brew at 16 miles...
No afternoon brew as a shorter day today.
An easy day - 58 miles with a mild hill early on... ...then mostly flat terrain through agricultural land, small medieval towns and villages, following quiet country lanes along the Altmühlweg cycle route.
Steve & Connie.
Nick, our resident birder, informed Kathy that this was definitely a stork!
The stork spotted two mice...
...and pounced. Mice are common food for storks during dry years.
My shadow "radioed in" to the riderless bicycle.
Ken hurtled along to inform Nick of the mouse catch (Ken is 78, cycles >5000miles a year and I found it hard keeping up with his 20mph).
A member of the Sussex Nomads, nothing would stop him.
He received support from high places...
...and sustenance.
Only to be met by raining umbrellas...
Similar to English, the village of "Aha" has the same meaning in German, that lightbulb moment.
Some rather juice doughnut peaches (Prunus persica)
Our three Aussies, Jane, Debbie and Deb.
See no evil...
Hear no evil...
?Smell no evil.
Martin and Steve.
Just 10 miles to go.
We departed, through mostly flat country, often carried by a tail wind.
"Can you photograph me on the move?"
Some undulations, fabulous road surfaces and lots of corn.
We've not been served corn yet, so I wonder if it's mainly for cattle feed, the manufacturing industry such as corn syrup...
"Build it and they will come" - what's the film?
We arrive at our destination, Weissenburg. After an hour and half waiting for food at the local Weissenburg Mexican, we gave in, cancelled the mains and ate doner kebabs (with doner for Kathy and me).
